It was great to see the Water-Insight IPC irrigation controllers showcased by Van Diemen’s Land Irrigation at the recent Agfest Tasmania 2024 field days.
AgFest enjoyed perfect Autumn weather and it was good to see the high level of customer interest in smart solid set irrigation.
Smart solid set irrigation is now helping more Tasmanian farmers improve their irrigation scheduling and water use efficiency. With the recent introduction of our IMS v2 Gateway, these farmers will enjoy all the benefits of our web app at a lower cost.
There are many similarities between Tasmania and the South Island of New Zealand. These include the climate, availability of irrigation water, extensive hilly terrain and the need to provide corner infill irrigation for the many centre pivots.
Whilst the Tasmanian solid set irrigation designs, including the post spacing and size of sprinkler guns, are different to what we see in New Zealand, the benefits and advantages of solid set are the same.
Agfest is a multi-award-winning agricultural field days organised by volunteer members of Rural Youth Tasmania. These young, passionate and innovative members spend a lot of time planning, working, managing and promoting the event to ensure everyone enjoys the Agfest experience.
Agfest Tasmania 2024 was visited by around 50,000 visitors and is already scheduled for the first week of May 2025.
