Welcome to the Water-Insight website. The site is owned by QTech Data Systems Limited. We are a New Zealand company who provide website features, applications products and services (collectively “Services”) to you when you visit this site (the “Water-Insight Site”). When we say “we”, “us” or “our” this refers to Water-Insight. Water-Insight subscribes to the principles of the New Zealand Privacy Act 1993.

Water-Insight is committed to providing you with the best value products and services in the field and online. We want you to know that any personal identity information you supply to us may be shared between affiliated companies and used without restriction to deliver services to you and authorised agents acting on your behalf, with your consent. We will not sell or rent your information to any third party and will exercise reasonable efforts to keep the information secure. Water-Insight recognises and respects your online privacy.

If you are a visitor to the site the basis on which we collect information is to enable us to best identify the products and services which may fit your needs and to communicate with you.

If you are a registered user of the Water-Insight Site, the basis on which we collect information from you is to enable you to manage the operations of your irrigation system in such a way that you maintain visibility of operations and can make changes to the configuration and control of your system.

We recognise that you may manage a number of systems so we consolidate information about you.

We provide mechanisms to enable you to delegate access to your systems to trusted individuals and business (parties) who may operate and maintain your systems on your behalf. In doing so we divulge information about you to those parties but only as much as they need to undertake the responsibilities that you delegate.

You control the right and level of access that is provided to the parties but we reserve the right to remove such access rights if we believe that a violation of the terms and conditions of use of the site has occurred. Water-Insight is automatically granted access to your systems, and data for the purpose of providing support and help to you.

Children under the age of eighteen (18) are not permitted to use the Water-Insight Site or create an account.

COLLECTION OF PERSONAL INFORMATION

Water-Insight collects and stores personal information about you including:

Address
Telephone number(s)
Email address
Occupation
Organisation
Geographical coordinates of irrigation systems (account holders only)
Names and contact details of agents acting on your behalf
Passwords (stored in an encrypted form)

Any or all such personal information may be collected directly from you when you:
-Register to use the Water-Insight Site.
-Email us regarding an enquiry or complaint or to provide feedback.
-Register for an event.

If you do not provide the necessary personal information when requested, you may not be able to access or use certain services provided by the Water-Insight Site and we may not be able to communicate with you.

USE OF PERSONAL INFORMATION

Any information collected by WATER-INSIGHT may be used for the following purposes:
-To verify and authenticate you when you create an account.
-Administering and/or improving the Water-Insight Site.
-Improving or delivering Water-Insight services.
-Market research and data analysis.
-Communicating with you.
-Investigating and/or responding to a complaint or enquiry from you.
-Future marketing, promotional and publicity purposes.
-To provide further information to you about other websites and services that Water-Insight considers may be of interest to you.

Water-Insight will only share personal information with other companies or individuals not already authorized by you to manage your irrigation system in the following limited circumstances:
-If compelled by New Zealand law or governmental regulation or by subpoena or other valid legal process.
-Where we have your verified consent.
-If we believe giving the information will help prevent or resolve fraudulent or unlawful activity or unauthorised access or attacks on our information technology systems or other violations of our Terms of Use for the Water-Insight Site. We may give this information to the New Zealand Police even if you are not involved in malicious activity.

NON-PERSONAL DATA

Water-Insight collects and stores non-personal information relating to you and your relationship with your irrigation systems for purposes such as:
-Configuring, controlling, monitoring and managing your irrigation system.
-Product research and development to improve the functionality and performance of the services.
-Measurement analytics to improve your decision capability when operating irrigation systems.
-Promote safety, integrity and security to verify accounts and activity and combat harmful activity.

Water-Insight makes reasonable efforts with servers under its control by the following:
-Water-Insight does not use cookies on this Water-Insight Site.
-Where possible Water-Insight uses encrypted web server connections.
-Water-Insight respects the Do Not Track setting in web browsers.

The Water-Insight Site uses third party applications and libraries in its construction. We cannot guarantee that these parties respect the Do Not Track setting.

Water-Insight collects and stores information that enables you to make decisions about the operation of your irrigation system. This can include data aggregated from your geographical area to support analytical functions. Personal location information is not disclosed.

Water-Insight also collects and stores non-personal information about your irrigation system’s interaction with our information technology systems. This includes device identifiers, serial numbers and IP addresses for devices used by your irrigation system. We also assign identifiers to the irrigation systems under your control.

Water-Insight collects and stores information about your usage of the services provided by the Water-Insight site including:
-Journals of changes you make to the configuration of your irrigation system.
-Journals of changes to your account information.
-Device information and attributes.
-Device behaviours (such as techniques to distinguish bots from humans).
-Data from device settings: information you allow us to receive through device settings you turn on, such as access to your GPS location, access to NFC data.
-Network and connections: information such as, time zone, mobile phone number, IP address.
-Location related information to enable you to navigate to devices in your irrigation system or locate them.

The Water-Insight Site may contain links to other web sites. Water-Insight is not liable for the privacy practices or the content of other web sites. Water-Insight uses these links to obtain data from other sources but does not post data to these sites.

YOUR RIGHTS AND CHOICES

Upon request, we will provide you with access to any personal information held about you. If such information is inaccurate, we will correct it. To contact us for access or correction please see our contact details.

If you are an account holder you will have the means to correct your personal data. You can also request that we close your account. We will do that after authenticating your request and if you have paid all applicable fees.
