Pre-season checks

pre season checks for IPC solid set irrigation

Despite a slow start, the irrigation season is well and truly upon us.

Pre-season checks of your irrigation system is a crucial activity which helps ensure your solid set irrigation is ready when you need it most.

The cloud-based IMS adds real value here and makes it very easy to identify IPCs that may need service or repair. A report can be easily created and printed out to make field work easier too.

General IPC checks:

IPC visual checks to preform
– Look for obvious damage to IPC – antenna & solenoid wires in particular
-Clean solar panel
-Ensure solenoid wires are connected correctly, including waterproof joiners

Checks using an EP3
-Confirm IPC serial number matches that configured in EP3
-Send a status request
-Check battery charge % & schedule matches (non cloud IMS sites)
-Issue time set & schedule if needed (Process from cloud IMS if applicable)
-Manually turn valve on/off

Note: If an IPC has had limited sun exposure over winter, the battery charge % may be low. As we move into Summer the battery may very well recharge as expected, so take this into consideration.
