IPC Service - refurb and repairs

IPC Refurb and Repair Reminder

We endeavour to provide prompt turnaround times for IPC repairs, but this year was a real challenge, with both staff shortages and material delays.

Please send any IPCs in need of refurbishment or repair to us over winter to help prevent the impact of these delays and increasing pressure during the irrigation season.

Irrigation NZ states, “winter is the ideal time to conduct repairs and maintenance on irrigation systems. By addressing these issues now irrigators can ensure that their irrigation systems are in top condition when needed”. Full article on page 44 of Autumn News.

Our team of skilled service technicians look forward to ensuring your fixed grid and G-Set controllers are ready for when you need to irrigate. All our IPC service activities are performed locally in Christchurch.

Last season we had IPC refurbishments sent in during November and December. Unfortunately, these were unable to be repaired until well into the New Year. We are trying to prevent this situation, so please send any refurbishments in now.

IPC refurbishment is a comprehensive overhaul which may include a new solar panel, replacement case etc. Refurbished IPCs have a 12 month warranty period, they are fully factory tested, and can also be supplied boxed with installation kits.

We encourage all systems to also hold spares as they simplify the swap out process and reduce dependency on repair times. This previous article includes advice on spares holding as systems get older.

IPC Health Checks with IMS

Now is also a good time to check the health of your solid set irrigation with IMS.

The cloud-based IMS adds real value here and makes it very easy to identify IPCs that may need service or repair. A report can be easily created and printed out to make field work easier too.

Note: If IPCs have limited exposure to sunlight during winter, the battery charge % may be low. As we move towards Spring the battery may very well recharge as expected, so please take this into consideration during assessment.

The IPC battery chargers and spare IPC batteries are also a great consideration for service situations.IPC Battery Chargers - AC and DC powered
