A large-scale irrigation project at Reperoa was recently completed by the team at EIDNZ.
EIDNZ are an Effluent and Irrigation specialist and based in Hamilton.
The project involves 700 solid set irrigation sprinklers spread across approx. 100ha. Some 60ha of this is new irrigation area, with the remaining 40ha converting existing, labour intensive, lateral irrigation.
“We’ve been busy installing Water Insights ‘solid set’ technology bringing the advantage of autonomous sprinkler control”.
The IPC controllers were also integrated into the IMS web platform providing control and visibility from mobile devices.
IMS is certainly recommended for such a large installation as it will save hours of labour driving round all 700 controllers to perform checks.

The large dairy farm had some really challenging conditions for the low power radios in the IPC. There were many hills and undulations but also shelter belts across the property. However, a successful solution was established for the communications during the on site commissioning day.
IPC can communicate back to the IMS gateway in direct, mesh and repeater configurations.
