Adding Editing and Removing IPCs using IMS

For more detail see the full application note.

This guide describes the process for adding IPCs individually into IMS and is convenient for:

  • Installers to follow on their phone to update as they go about installing on a new site
  • Quickly making small adjustments to existing sites

There are also options for importing bulk lists of IPCs from a spreadsheet or an IPC scheduling application project file.

Adding an IPC
  1. Click Farm Settings (cog on the farm card) > Manage Assets > Irrigation Devices
  2. Select the add New Sprinkler button
  3. Give the IPC a name (must be 5 characters or less)
    • A naming convention such as Z1P12 (Zone 1, post/pod 12) is recommended

  4. Enter the Serial Number, FarmID, and radio Channel number for the farm
  5. Choose the Communications Mode
  6. Define a GPS Location
    • Click on the map to set a location

  8. If this IPC is a Spare, click the slider control called Is Spare Unit
  9. Click the Create button to add the device to the IMS cloud database

If you are replacing an IPC with another one follow the Swapping IPCs in the Field process.

Removing an IPC

For example:
A non-operational IPC is replaced with a spare, then returned for servicing. The IPC is found to be non-economic to repair, so should be removed from your IMS site.

  1. Click Farm Settings (cog on the farm card) > Manage Assets > Irrigation Devices
  2. Select the more menu (3 vertical dots) next to the IPC of interest > Delete
